Gray Dalton is a laid-back Montana rancher, the kind of guy everyone thinks they know everything about. They call him predictable, dependable—and well, the dude of no surprises.
When Gray’s sister Maggie starts planning her wedding, and laid-back Gray has to see to the details, it puts him back in touch with his best friend, and his best friend’s sister, Baliee Parish. What no one knows is that Gray and Baliee had one hot encounter—where they weren't just the brother of Baliee’s best friend Maggie—and the kid sister of Gray’s best buddy Mark Parish.
One sultry night in a cramped apartment before Gray joined the service and while Baliee was working her way through college, they crossed all the lines and blurred the boundaries Gray had set for himself.
Now, the brother of the bride, who kept silent and denied to himself that any woman came close to moving him the way Maggie and her husband seemed to move one another, must face the fact that all the years apart from Baliee disproved instead of proved his arguments to himself. Baliee knew her friend’s brother better than most could suspect. Of the group of girlfriends, she was the one who hadn’t flirted or chased Gray as a teen. But in her fantasies there was only one man who was everything she could want—and she couldn’t wait to reach the age where he’d stop seeing her only as Mark’s kid sister.
Baliee got her dream one night, knowing Gray was leaving for the armed forces for a few years. However, that taste of everything she desired flavored her life for years to come.
Determined not to make a fool of herself, she avoided Gray. Although, through Maggie, she knew he was still single, and still everything she admired in a man.
When Maggie asked her to be a bride’s maid, to stay at Gray’s ranch, Baliee discovers that temptation has a way of overriding her best intentions, and the brother of the bride was more tempting than she was prepared for.
